Evaluation and Comments for Project 10
Materials, resources and activities

"It is great that all the power points and workbooks are provided for us with all the relevant content. The children especially liked having coloured booklets rather than the black and white photocopying we usually produce in"
- Fritwell Primary School -
"The powerpoints were really easy to follow and the notes made teaching it straightforward. It was clear as to what was needed to be covered. The children particularly enjoyed the video clips. "

Content
-
"I was surprised by how detailed and in-depth some of the content was (eg introducing FGM) however the children responded really well and were really interested. It is important that they understand these things, especially before going to secondary school where they will meet a wider range of children with different knowledge and experience."
- Fritwell Primary School -
"Clear content and progression linking topics together"
- The Warriner School -
"The section on knife crime was great."
- Hanborough Manor Primary School -
"I initially thought some of the content was too old for the class but as it turned out, they responded really well to it, were shocked in parts but their feedback was it was really interesting and they learnt a lot about rules, responsibilities in the community as well as consequences to actions. They also coped well with the topics that were covered. They felt it was pitched perfectly."
- Bampton Primary School
Support
-
"When I was struggling to access the website I received a quick response via email, with the relevant materials for my next lesson attached to ensure I was still able to deliver the lesson while I worked through my access problems (which I quickly solved)."
- Fritwell Primary School -
"Resources were support enough but I do know our PCSO was more than willing to come and support if necessary."
- Bampton Primary School
Other
-
"Thank you for providing the resources and structure to enable the informed discussion of these sensitive and yet important discussions with the children."
- Fritwell Primary School -
"I taught 2 to 3 sessions per week which seemed to work really well and kept it fresh and the children engaged."
- Bampton Primary School -
"Thank you once again! This project really is invaluable to our children and our local community"
- Bishop Loveday Primary School
What did the children like about Project 10
The class look forward to the sessions (“Yes! We have Project 10 today!” and often cite Project 10 as one of their highlights when reflecting on positives from the day in their gratitude journals. One child described how the discussions in Project 10 “opened up our classroom.” Since beginning Project 10, many children have come to talk to school staff about things that are bothering them – no real safeguarding issues, but they are opening up about their feelings and concerns, showing that the message of school staff being trusted adults who can help if they are not feeling safe or happy has really got through.
I feel that they enjoyed being able to ask questions/ run through scenarios for things that felt relevant or that they had seen within their community (for example the graffiti near Spice ball Park)
‘I found it really interesting and learnt lots of knew things I didn’t already know.’ ‘I looked forward to the sessions.’
“No matter the offence, every victim and every offender is likely to have had contact with the school system during their lives, either as a parent or as a pupil. Schools are therefore in a key position to help to reduce the number of future victims and offenders by providing targeted inputs to the right people at the right time.”
